Pronouns: she/they
I grew up in Homer, Alaska and completed my educational journey outside of the state, receiving an AS in Psychology and Women's Studies, a BS in Health Psychology from Bastyr University and a Master's of Social Work from University of Central Florida. I am in the process of becoming a licensed sex therapist, and have completed trainings in HAES and TBT-S Levels 1 & 2.
Throughout the 20+ years I have worked in the mental health field, I have worked with marginalized populations who struggle with issues including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, psychosis, disordered eating patterns/eating disorders and other impulse control issues.
I specialize in LGBTQIA2+ folks, to support their queer/transitioning/identity development journey. I also work with identity development, attachment styles and relationships, including poly and consensual non-monogamy paradigms. I am sex worker, kink/fetishes friendly and am part of the KAP directory. I am available to write WPATH letters for clients or non-clients (for a small fee). I also work with individuals with disordered eating/ eating disorders and the experience of societal norms contributing to emotional distress.
I have always had a deep passion for LGBTQ2IA+ equity and equality, fat and sex positive viewpoints and primarily work from a feminist/queer/psychodynamic/systemic/anti-oppresive/narrative theory lens. Treatment modalities are primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Narrative and dialectical conversations. I identify as a queer, gender fluid and polyamorous person, and am always trying to be aware of my power and privilege both in and out of the office. In my spare time, I volunteer on a local board of directors, garden, spend time with my family, and have multiple schemes for building projects brewing. I love to read YA vampire and post-apocalyptic novels, and am an aspiring writer of the genre myself :)
I am currently licensed in Alaska, Oregon and New Mexico. I am on track to obtain my Sex Therapy certification by winter of 2025.
I am currently under the supervision of Nick Marzo, MS LPC, LMHC, CST, ACS, NCC, CCMHC consistent with GA Rule 135 and the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapists and Mental Health Counselors. Nick can be reached at 678-802-9355 or nmarzo@modernpath.net to address any concerns about the care you receive.

Kim is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Montana and obtained a Master of Social Work from Portland State University. I have previously worked for 20+ plus years within community mental health and non-profits providing outpatient therapy and wrap-around services for SED youth/teenagers, and their families. I currently see clients 14 and older for individual therapy, family therapy, and consult services. Group therapy can be provided upon request and when appropriate.
I specialize in working with most major mood disorders to include anxiety, depression, bipolar, OCD, ADHD, trauma, substance misuse, and impaired eating/eating disorders. This also includes working with individuals that self-harm, have compulsive behaviors, suicidal ideation, young adults individuating, clients that identify as neurodivergent, relationships that are poly or ethical non-monogamy, and clients that identify at LGTBQIA2+ and may be coping with gender dysphoria or transitioning. I can provide WPATH letters as appropriate.
I believe in providing compassionate acceptance to those who experience mental health struggles in a non-judgmental environment. Treatment modalities often utilized are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness CBT, dialectical approaches, sex positive perspective, and narrative therapy modalities. I often work in larger “teams” that can include doctors, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, dietitians/nutritionists, residential programs, and discharge/aftercare programs from hospitalizations.
I was born and raised in Alaska, and enjoy spending my time with family, friends, and pet posse both indoors and out. I use my free time to read, attempt to grow things, and watch British TV cooking shows in hopes that some skills may happen by simple exposure.
